Gr 1-3-Tom's big brother is honing his skills to become an evil scientist. One of his first evil experiments involves dipping Tom's goldfish, Frankie, into a gooey, green gunk. To Tom's horror, it looks like Frankie isn't going to survive his dunk in the gunk. After some quick thinking and a zap of a battery, Frankie is back....and zombified. Now the evil scientist is out to destroy the zombie fish. Though the story is aimed at a young audience, there is a significant overuse of the word moron and threats delivered from the big brother to the little brother. This unnecessary use of mature content overshadows the plot. Christopher Gebauer narrates, providing entertaining and imaginative voices to the characters. VERDICT While the premise is promising, the mature content makes this story miss the mark.-Jessica Gilcreast, Bedford High School, NH
