Gr 3-5-The 11 to 13 projects per book provide experience with various types of conductive materials (graphite, copper tape, circuit pen, salt dough) and LEDs, motors, and bulbs. Variations allow crafters to adapt the projects according to their personal taste and availability of materials. Good safety tips, including "Never put batteries in your mouth," show that the author is someone who has actually worked with children. Photos of real kids modeling the objects may inspire readers with the confidence to try them. Not all projects involve the flow of electricity. Circuit board jewelry and a tool belt might be considered STEM-adjacent. Games is the standout. Each craft involves two components-creating the game and then playing it, which can encourage the modification of the game as players test their creation. However, the series is missing explanations of why the circuits work. VERDICT These wearable, playable crafts offer kids a chance to practice with conductivity.
