BOOK TWENTY IN THE DALZIEL AND PASCOE SERIES
Caught in a huge Semtex explosion, it seems the only thing preventing Superintendent Andy Dalziel from death is his size – and sheer bloody-mindedness. An injured DCI Peter Pascoe is convinced there's a conspiracy at work, despite the security services concluding the blast was in fact an accident. Who, then, are the mysterious Knights Templar with their gruesome acts of vengeance? And what of a hit-and-run on one of Pascoe's colleagues? And, most importantly, will Dalziel ever wake up to hear the truth...?
"One of Britain's most consistently excellent crime novelists." THE TIMES.

Shaun Dooley has narrated several titles in this series about Yorkshire Police Detectives Dalziel and Pascoe, so all of the main characters will sound comfortably familiar to many listeners. Those who haven't discovered Dooley's version of the irascible Dalziel, the smoothly peaceable Pascoe, and the edgy Wield are in for a treat. In this installment, Dalziel spends much of his time in a coma while Pascoe carries the story. This involves terrorists, anti-terrorist police units, and the genuinely not very bright Constable Hector. The cast of characters is large and the plot twisted, but, have no fear, Dooley keeps everything clear while delivering crisp pacing and individual characterizations so precise that the actors seem to populate the air around you.
