      Hathor Du Bell is surrounded by sickeningly sweet love matches. After two seasons on the marriage market without her own proposal, however, she decides to focus on making a practical, rather than passionate match. When Hathor learns that Queen Charlotte plans to introduce her nephew--a prince--into society, she knows this match would check all the boxes. Unfortunately, Prince Wilhelm has heard of Hathor's fortune-hunting reputation, and she is well aware of his womanizing ways, making their first encounter antagonistic at best. As friendship overcomes their initial combativeness, they realize that reputations can be misleading. McAvoy (Verity and the Forbidden Suitor) presents the third installment of "The Du Bells" series, wherein contrary but caring Hathor has her day. Narrators Grace Gray and Shane East perfectly capture the chemistry of the couple, from playful competition to passion. Their expressive portrayal of the witty banter and sensuous love scenes yields an engaging listening experience, with East's seductive timbre being particularly affecting. VERDICT This audio will appeal to listeners seeking a sexy, spirited Regency romance with an enchanting enemies-to-lovers plot.
